What 3D Printers Do We Use?

At Tidewater 3D Printing, we have a collection of six 3D printers that we regularly use, so keep reading to learn more about our 3D printers:

Bambu Lab P1S

The newest and most exciting in our collection, is the Bambu Lab P1S. Unlike any of our other filament-based 3D Printer, this amazing machine has an enclosed body that helps us to create nicer, cleaner finishes.

"It prints with a top speed of 500 mm/s, the acceleration from zero to 500 mm/s takes just 0.025 seconds. The active vibration compensation (XY) algorithm and pressure advance guarantees extra smoothness and gets you good prints."

The range of materials that we are now able to work with, includes:

Elegoo Neptune 3

We currently have two Elegoo Neptune 3 FDM 3D Printers that have a printing size of 220 x 220 x 280mm.

FDM stands for Fused Deposition Modelling, and we used reels of filament with this type of printer. Filaments are available in a variety of colours and we will do our best to source the one that suits your needs.

Things that we have previously made using this 3D printer includes:

  • Sim Card Tray
  • Various Skadis Holders
  • Business Card Holders
  • Plant Pots
  • Miniature Replica of Hallsgrimkirkja
  • Viking Drinking Horn
  • Thing (from The Addams Family)

Ender 3 Max

We also have an Ender 3 Max, which has a larger printing size of 300 x 300 x 340mm.

Similar to the Elegoo Neptune 3, the Ender 3 Max utilises filaments.

Things that we have previously made with the 3D printer includes:

  •  Mass Effect Black Widow Prop
  • Plant Pots

Elegoo Mars 2

The next in our 3D printing collection is the Elegoo Mars 2, which uses resin.

We typically print in grey ABS-like resin, but if you have a specific request for a colour, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. If you’re interested in learning more about the benefits of using resin for 3D printing, check out our Magic of MSLA blog post.

Things that we have previously made with the Elegoo Mars 2 include:

  • Character Busts
  • DnD Miniatures
  • Turnip28 Miniatures
  • Assorted Terrain Elements
  • Display Miniatures
  • Pokemon Miniatures

Elegoo Saturn 8k

Purchased in July 2023, is our Golden Boy of Resin; the Elegoo Saturn 8k.

This incredible resin 3D printer boasts an impressive 8k resolution, as well as a much larger build plate than the Elegoo Mars 2, meaning we can 3D print more larger items.

Adding this to our family was an absolute no-brainer as we had been struggling to print resin products quickly enough.

So far, our makes with the Elegoo Saturn 8k include:

  • Character Busts
  • Terrain for Tabletop Gaming
